How SongPush solved the cold start problem
In this presentation, we’ll explore how SongPush - a creator marketing platform that initially started in the music industry but is now also transitioning into other industries like movies, apps and brands - tackled the Cold Start Problem and grew from 0 to over 100,000 app downloads within nine months all while operating with a limited marketing budget. The widely known Cold Start Problem, which occurs when a new product struggles to gain initial users or interactions, can cripple early-stage startups. Through strategic decision-making and a focus on product-led growth, we addressed the challenge by targeting a niche market at first, balancing the supply and demand side and using data-driven techniques for user acquisition and retention.
Key areas of focus will include:
- Getting the first kickstart - no matter what
- Dealing with user feedback
- Balancing supply and demand and insights into how we solved the two-sided market dilemma by focusing first on one side and shifting the focus over time
- Implementing gamification, viral loops, and push notifications to drive engagement
- Strategies for generating viral content that significantly boosted visibility and app downloads
Join us as we break down the seven key steps that propelled SongPush to app store success and helped solve one of the most challenging problems facing new platforms today: The Cold Start Problem.
