Freyja envisions forward-looking digital product strategies in a constantly evolving ecosystem, and leads inspired teams to deliver news, entertainment and lifestyle experiences that audiences love. In her role at Hearst, she leads the Product Management and Product Operations teams, drives digital product strategy and development of websites and apps for Hearst’s dozens of local news publications, and guides explorations into new opportunities in news, lifestyle and entertainment. Previously, she held Product leadership roles at New York Public Radio, the former Scripps Networks (now part of Warner Bros Discovery Inc.), and SocialFlow (acquired by Piano); served as a strategy and innovation consultant at Luminary Labs; and won a 2001 Webby, along with her team at Automatic Media for Plastic.com, an early UGC news and entertainment platform. Freyja is a founding board member of Kidizenship, a non-partisan, non-profit media platform for tweens and teens aimed at increasing civic engagement and media literacy, and is active in several professional communities where she speaks on the topics of leadership, product management, and digital transformation for news organizations. She also serves in an advisory capacity for select small businesses and startups.
