Anwar is a seasoned business professional with over 12 years of work experience, spanning multiple sectors, including Oil & Gas, Infrastructure/Project Finance, Financial Advisory, Private Equity, Fintech, AI/ML, MLOps, and Product Management. Anwar was a Fulbright scholar at Duke University, as well as part of the World Energy Council through its prestigious Future Energy Leaders Program. As AI becomes more ubiquitous, it is imperative that users and builders of AI can trust it to make ethical, fair, and sound decisions. In order to gain this trust, AI must be fair/unbiased, interpretable/explainable, reliable, privacy preserving, and secure. Cognizant of this imperative, Anwar leads the Data & AU Trust team, at RBC Brain, which is developing tools & frameworks to help ensure that ethical concerns are held paramount while building AI models, and all AI practitioners are educated in the use of these frameworks/tools.
