Relevance in the age of AI: Who owns the interface?
For decades, product leaders have competed on the strength of their interface: the app, the storefront, the checkout flow. But as AI agents increasingly act on behalf of consumers, searching, comparing, and even purchasing without a human ever seeing a screen, that interface may no longer belong to the brand at all. This session examines what happens to relevance when the layer between you and your customer is owned by someone else's model.
We will explore where value actually sits in an agentic commerce future: is it in the product experience, the underlying data, the protocol that agents rely on to transact, or something else entirely. Drawing on early signals from agentic commerce, this session challenges product leaders to rethink their strategic position before the interface question is answered for them.
Attendee takeaways
- A clear framework for identifying where your product's value sits today, and where it's at risk of eroding as AI intermediaries take over the interface
- A sharper understanding of what "agentic commerce" actually means in practice, beyond the buzzword
- Practical questions to bring back to your product and leadership teams about data access, protocol dependency, and brand visibility in an AI mediated future
- A perspective on how to start preparing your roadmap now, rather than reacting once the shift is already underway
