Ivelin Zvezdov is AVP of Product Development and Head of Financial & Aggregate Modeling at Verisk, where he has spent nearly two decades leading the development of advanced catastrophe and financial risk modeling solutions for the global insurance industry. His work sits at the intersection of AI, quantitative analytics, and product innovation, helping insurers better understand and prepare for complex, large-scale risks.
With previous leadership roles in energy trading and risk management at Calpine, Sempra Energy, and the American Bureau of Shipping, Ivelin brings a unique perspective on applying mathematical modeling to real-world business challenges. He studied Economics at the University of St Andrews and holds an M.Phil. from the University of Oxford. Alongside his work at Verisk, he contributes to environmental and public policy initiatives through the IUCN and as a writer for Modern Diplomacy.
